最後の更新からだいぶ時間が経って、2015年も1か月が過ぎようとしてます。
2014年の後半、ブログのネタになるような出来事がたくさんあったんですが
ついつい日々の忙しさを理由に更新できずにいました。
2015年はもう少しまめに、小さなことでも更新していきたいと思います。

せっかくだから2014年の後半を振り返るとして、、、
ハイライトはなんといっても7月に結婚したこと。
当日は私たちと、結婚立会人と証人になってくれた友達夫婦のみの式でした。
もともとその日は日本でいう「入籍」と考えていて、正式な披露宴などは別で行うつもりでいたので
「ジーパンで行こうかなー」と言っていたんですが
「絶対にドレスアップしたほうがいい！！」と言われて慌ててドレスを買いに行きました。
ステファンのスーツは前日に購入。
写真を見返してみると、「ドレスアップして本当によかったなー」と思います。
私の家族や友達を呼んでの披露宴は今年の11月にメルボルンでする予定です。

私の2年間のワーキングホリデービザが切れるタイミングに合わせて
「パートナービザ」というものを申請しました。
ビザ目当ての偽装結婚も多いということで、ビザの審査にはかなり時間がかかるようです。
でもビザの審査を待っている間は、働くことも学校に行くことも制限なしにできるし
健康保険ももらえているので、何も問題なく今までと変わらずに暮らしています。
平均して１年半くらいかかるようなので、私のビザが下りるのは来年の今頃でしょうか。。。

11月には友達の結婚式に合わせて日本へ一時帰国しました。
今回は私一人での帰国だったので、前回よりも家族・友達と多くの時間を過ごせました。
久しぶりの家族での１泊温泉旅行、ずっと楽しみにしていた友達の赤ちゃんとの初対面、同期との時間、、、思い出すだけで私をシアワセな気分にさせてくれます。
今年もステファンと一時帰国予定なので、また日本のいろんなところをみせてあげるのが今から楽しみです。


12月から新しい仕事を始めたことは、また改めてブログに書くとして
2014年もあっという間に過ぎていきました。
オーストラリアでの日々も3年目。
まだまだ行ったことのない場所、やってみたいことがたくさんです。
それらをひとつひとつ大切に行動に移す年にできたらいいなと思います。

I watched 2 Japanese movies the other day.

Not DVD ones, at cinema in Melbourne!!!

I've never imagined I can watch Japanese movie at cinema expect Film Festival, so I was really surprised when I knew these movies are showing.

 

The movies are "Like Father, Like Son" and "Wind Rises"

At Melbourne International Festival 2013, I actually could watch "Like Father, Like Son"

but I was in bush and doing farm stay for my 2nd visa at that moment, so unfortunatelly I couldn't.

I hoped "Wind Rises" was coming to Japanese Film Festival last year, but it didn't happen.

As I wrote here about "how much I wanted to watch these movie" last year, I am really really happy to watch them at cinema!!

 

We watched both movie in Japanese language with English subtitles.

Because these are Japanese movie I thought there are more Japanese people than Australian, but actually most audience are Australian!!

Everytime I watch a Japanese movie with Stefan, I'm curious what Stefan thinks about "Japan" watching Japanese movies.

After watched "Like Father, Like Son", I asked him " Did Ryota look like typical Japanese man and husband for you?? "

Ryota does care about his work but not much for own family.

I think many foreigners have that image for Japanese men.

 

Stefan said to me about "Wind Rises"

" I don't think Mr.Horikoshi is not good man. If he was good man, he would have break from work and be together with wife to let her be treated..."

(Mr.Horikoshi was middle of big project to designing important plane for Japanese Navy and that was chance for his dream come true. so he just concentrated on his work. He didin't have time to look after his wife Nahoko even though she was really sick and needed treatment in hospital. She stayed at home because she wanted to see Mr.Horikoshi accomplish his work with her own eyes.)

I think most Japanese who watched this movie did understand what Mr.Horikoshi did.

Because He had passion and a dream. He did want to make it happen.

and Nahoko understood his situation and she also wanted him to follow his dream...

In Western culture "Family is most important thing" is really common thought so it is natural Stefan saw Mr.Horikoshi is not nice.

Thinking about cultural differences through movies is really interesting.

After we enjoyed the movies, discussing about Japanese culture give me another joy to watch movie.

 

I think Cinema Nova is really great cinema.

We can enjoy not only big movies but also small movies and movies from all over the world.

For foreign movies they put English subtitles, so it makes me to understand and enjoy movie more.

We are thinking to watch "Wadjda" which is first film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia.

A trailer was really great so I'm sure we will enjoy it.

I really hope Cinema Nova keep showing more Japanese movies and foreign movies.

ずっと観たかった日本映画を2本観ました。

DVDじゃなくて、メルボルンの映画館で！！！

毎年開催されているJapanese Film FestivalやMelbourne International Film Festival以外で日本の映画が観れるとは思ってもいなかったので

上映されてると知った時には驚きました。

 

観た映画は『そして父になる』と『風立ちぬ』

『そして父になる』は去年のメルボルン国際映画祭で上映されたんですが

私はセカンドビザ取得のためのファームステイで田舎にいたので観られず。

『風立ちぬ』は去年の日本映画祭で上映されるだろうと期待していたけれど、上映されず。

その当時どちらのこともこのブログに「観たかった、、、」と書いていたくらいなので

映画館で観られて本当にうれしかったです。

 

どちらも日本語音声に英語の字幕。

日本人の観客が多いのかな〜と思ってましたが、圧倒的にオージーが多かったと思います。

ステファンはどっちも「いい映画だった」と言ってました。

日本の映画を一緒に観る時には、映画を通してステファンに「日本」というものがどう映るのかがすごく気になります。

『そして父になる』を観た後、「主役のお父さんはさ、典型的な日本人夫に見えた？」と聞いてみました。

仕事一筋で、家庭や教育は奥さん任せ。

多くの外国人にとって「日本人男性」がそう映ってるような気がします。

 

『風立ちぬ』の後には、「主人公、いい男じゃない。仕事一旦休んででも、彼女を病院に連れ戻して一緒にいるべきだったのに。」って。

多分多くの日本人は、主人公が自分の仕事や夢にかけている想いとか、奥さんも旦那さんの夢が叶うことを願っていたことを自然と理解して

主人公のとった行動が受け入れたと思います。私ももちろんその一人です。

文化というか考え方の違いって面白いですよね。

よく西洋文化として「仕事よりも家族や愛する人優先」と言われますが、オーストラリアの文化でもその色が濃いような気がします。

 

前にこのブログにも書いたCINEMA NOVAでどちらも上映されていました。

大きな映画館で上映されるような映画はもちろん、今回の日本映画のように世界中の映画を上映しています。

サウジアラビアで初めて作られたという『Wadjda』の予告を見て、「次はこれ見たい！」と話してました。

英語圏ではない国の映画は、英語の字幕付きで上映されるので、私にとっては英語音声だけのものより観やすいです。

 

CINEMA NOVAでこれからも日本映画が上映されたらいいなと思います。

 

One of the things Stefan was really looking forward in Japan is " tobacco & alcohol "

 

Do you know why??

Because cigarette cost average over $20 in Australia!!

I know Japanese can't believe but it's true.

It used to cheaper but as tax went up and up and up...

We also have tax raising for cigaret in Japan and many people say " it's expensive !!! " but look at Australia!

Japanese can't say "expensive" no more! After you know the price in Australia hahaha

 

When Stefan found out about price Japanese cigaret, he said

" Are you serious? Ahhhh I got heartatack... I wish I could bring back thousands and thousands of cigarettes. Spewing!!! "

Because we are allowed to bring only 50 cigarettes into Australia.

It means just 2 packet!! But lucky Stefan... I brought back 2 packet for him so he enjoyed total 4 packet of Japanese cigarette here.

 

Now let's talk about alcohols.

There is huge pub culture in Australia.

Therefore I feel it might cheaper in Australia when you drink in pub or restauran.

But Stefan was so surprised the price of spirits and beer at bottle shop.

He took this photo saying " My friends never believe what I say about price so I should show evidence!! "

 

JIM BEAM 700 ml normally cost $38 in Australia.

It was around $10 in Japan. ( on special though )

After took photo he just whisper " I'd love to bring back for my friends..."

He has got many many friends who love cigarette and alcohol hahaha

 

Stefan was really happy about price for cigarette and alcohole but he was wondering one thing...

" Why I can't smoke on the street? "

Well...it is banned to smoke on the street in many ward in Tokyo by law. You can only smoke certain " smoking area "

In Australia smoking inside building is almost prohibited everywhere but you can smoke on the streets.

On the other hand drinking on the street is strictly banned. Same as in USA I think.

 

He thinks it is really weird that can't smoke on the street but can drink.

But I understand the idea of no smoking on the streets.

Tabacco fumes is sometime really annoying for non smoker.

And I heard about accident when people is walking cigarette between their fingers cause burn for little kids...

 

I think background of no drinking on the street in Australia is to prevent people become crazy with drinking.

Some people can be really crazy and violent with alcohol...I learned that in Australia ( Of course it's not Steffy )

I see man with beer or sake in train sometimes and it's not surprise situation in Tokyo but that story also gave Stefan culture shock.

 

Someone said on Internet " Japan strict for cigarette but generous about alcohol "

But for Aussie eye, Japan is still tolerant to smoking.

In Australia even though drinking at pub, you always have to smoke outside. Tell you more...after you go through Immigration at Melbourne airport there is no smoking area what soever!!

 

In Japan we can still smoke most of Izakaya or pub.

Even the place where has sign " we are divided into smoking and no smoking area", it is actually same floor and there is no door or screen between these area.

I don't smoke so it's not big deal these all situation but I think they should have real separate spase at least eating place...

 

I never pay attention about cigarette and alcohol in Australia

so it was interesting that Stefan discovered many different culture in Japan.

日本に行くことでステファンが楽しみにしていことひとつが「たばことお酒」

 

日本のみんなは信じられないかもしれないけど

オーストラリアではたばこは平均2000円以上するのです。

税金が上がって、上がっての結果のようですが

日本でも値上がりを重ねて今の値段になって「高くなったー」なって言ってるのにね。そんな比じゃないです。

 

インターネットで日本のたばこの値段を知ったステファンは

「うわー信じられない！たくさん持って帰ってこれたらいいのに」と嘆いてました。

(オーストラリアへ持ち込める免税分はたばこ50本まで！たった2箱しか持って帰れません)

オーストラリアに戻ってくる時に、私も2箱持ち帰ってあげたので、ステファンは計4箱オーストラリアでも楽しんだようです。

 

そしてお酒。

オーストラリアはパブ文化の国なので、お店で飲むお酒はオーストラリアの方が安いかなーという印象ですが

スピリッツや缶ビールの値段にはステファンも驚いてました。

「すごく安かった！って言ってもみんな信じないかもしれないから」なんて言ってこんな写真を撮ったステファン。

このJIM BEAM、オーストラリアだと38ドル、3500円くらいするんです。

「友達にお土産で買って帰ってあげたいー」と。

ちなみにアルコール類の持ち込みは2.25リットル。

 

たばことお酒の値段に感動していたステファンですが

「なんで路上でたばこ吸っちゃいけないの？」と。

東京のほとんどは指定された場所以外での喫煙や歩きタバコが条例で禁止されてますよね。

オーストラリアでは建物内での喫煙はだいたいの場所で禁止されてますが、路上での喫煙はオッケー。

その一方で、路上での飲酒は禁止されています。これはアメリカでも一緒ですね。

「路上でたばこ吸っちゃいけないのに、お酒はいいの？変なのー」って言ってたけど

私にしてみれば、たばこの煙って非喫煙者にとってはけっこういやなものだし、火が小さな子どもに背丈にあると危ないという理由がすごく理解できるんだけどな。

 

ちなみにオーストラリアのその決まりは、お酒に酔った人たちが、クレイジーになって暴れたり、事件が起こるのを防止するためだと。

「たまに電車内でお酒飲んでるおじさんとかみかけるよ」と教えてあげたら、それもかなりのカルチャーショックだったようです。

 

インターネットでも「たばこには厳しいのにお酒には寛大な日本」と言われてたりします。

でもステファンに言わせれば「まだまだたばこにも甘い」と。

オーストラリアではたとえパブであっても「たばこは外で」となっているし

メルボルン空港では入国審査を通った後には喫煙所がありません！

 

日本は居酒屋やパブではたばこ吸えるところがほとんどだし

「分煙」としている飲食店でも「喫煙」と「禁煙」が同じフロアで、仕切りの壁なしなんてのもまだまだ普通ですもんね。

「ご飯食べるところでたばこ吸えるのって、、、」と喫煙者の彼でさえちょっと疑問に思ってたけれど。
